While sometimes the terms 'dissertation' and 'thesis' are used interchangeably, in Ireland it is most common to use 'dissertation' for work done as part of an Undergraduate or Taught Masters course, and 'thesis' for work done for PhD or Research Masters degrees - this is the convention followed here.
Dissertations and theses completed before 2019 were submitted to one of the three partner institutes which preceded and joined to form TU Dublin, and these are listed as works of Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), or Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT).
From 2021 onwards dissertations and final year projects will only be available as eDissertations (PDF).
Hardcopy theses and older hardcopy dissertations are for Library Use only and may not be borrowed. These are available to consult in the relevant home library for each course or programme.

How to search by Location and Material type:
Select the 'Advanced Search' option, and in the drop-down menu for 'Material Type' select 'Dissertation' or 'Theses' as appropriate, and for 'Location' choose the library whose dissertations you wish to see.

How to search by Programme:
On the basic or advanced search page, choose Subject from the dropdown menu and type your programme code e.g. TU856 or your programme title e.g. BSc Computer Science into the search box, to obtain a list of the dissertations for that course only.
Add additional search terms as necessary to narrow down the results.
How to search by Title or Author:
From the drop-down search menu choose Title or Author, then input the exact information you have been given to search for a specific dissertation (or thesis).
NOTE: Remember to search authors' names by 'Surname, First Name' or Surname, First initial
