Library Essentials: Renew or extend a loan

Renewing your book:

Some books you borrow from the library can be renewed for a further lending period.

Here is how you can renew your books:

1. Online - Follow these steps:

1. Log in to your MyLibrary Account via the library catalogue

2. Log in with your Student or Staff Number and Library PIN.

3. Select items to be renewed and click on 'Renew Marked' tab or click on 'Renew All' tab - See red Xs below.

2. Renewing on self service machines:

You can also renew your books on the Self Service machines by following the on screen steps at any of the machines across TU Dublin library.

3. Library staff can do it for you:

If you are unable to renew your books online or at any of the Self Service machines, you may ask the library staff to do it for you - please contact the library with your request.

1. Ring or email the library and provide your student / staff number.

or

2. Present the items along with your ID card at any library desk and the library staff will renew them for you.

Please Note: Books and other items may not be renewed if any of the following apply:

• You have already renewed the item once
• Someone has placed a hold on the item
• The item is overdue
• The item is not from the main lending collection

In these cases please present your books / items along with your ID card at any library desk and the library staff will be happy to help you.
