Postgraduate music research guide

Guide aimed at final year music and drama students. Recommendations on books for different stages of the research process.

Getting started

This is a guide for final year or postgraduate students in music and drama.  Here you will find a list of resources and direct links to facilitate you in your research.  It is essential to become proficient at academic writing.  There are many books on the subject located through TU Dublin library.  If you search the TU Dublin library catalogue using a keyword search you will retrieve many titles available for borrowing.  As a student of TU Dublin you may borrow from any of the TU Dublin City Campus libraries.

I have selected some texts which you may find helpful to familiarise you with the research process and the different tasks involved in each stage.

When you move the cursor over the relevant title you will be directly linked to the item in the catalogue.  Where a book is only available as an e-book I have indicated this adjacent to the book in question.  However in order to access e-books purchased by TU Dublin you will need to create a library pin number to enable you to access the title remotely.

It is advisable to commence your library research via the TU Dublin library services homepage.  Click on the link here.
