From the Latin plagiarius - 'kidnapper'
I like the simplicity of the Cambridge International Dictionary definition of plagiarism.
To Plagiarise: “To use another person’s ideas or work and pretend it is your own.”
In college that most often means your written and presented work but if you think about it, it effects all creative areas.
When Picasso said "good artists copy, great artists steal" was that encouraging plagiarism or just...using artistic licence?
Artists and people who have been accused of plagiarism include David Bowie, Andy Warhol, J.K.Rowling, Quentin Tarantino, Barak Obama and Melania Trump – we cant be partisan here.
Ok but let’s get back to you in college. What’s it mean, what are the consequences and what you should do to avoid it?
