Many books on research methods contain chapters on data collection. Depending on the scope of your project these chapters can give you all the information that you need to complete your research, or they can be a good starting point before moving on to more in-depth information.
Data Collection Methods (or Research Methods)
It is important to choose the most appropriate data collection methods, so you can be sure that when the data is analysed and interpreted it will fulfil the aims and objectives of your research. Some data collection methods are associated with certain methodologies, for example, observation techniques and ethnographic methods. However, there aren’t any decisive rules as to which data collection method can be used with a specific methodology.
