Employability

Employability is "a set of aptitudes, attitudes, and attributes which enable students and graduates to develop academically, vocationally, socially, and personally; empowering them to contribute meaningfully to society and the economy in career paths which are personally fulfilling and successful." -Dave Kilmartin, Head of TU Dublin Career Development Centre (City Centre), 2014

TU Dublin considers the attainment of employability skills as key in making sure that its graduates are prepared for and able to contribute to the economy and society.

The library is not just here to support students in finding books and papers to use when doing projects and assignments. It can be used to gain lifelong skills and access to information that is a game changer as TU Dublin prepares it’s graduates for life during and after university.
During your studies, the library might have taught you and developed your skills for searching for information, analysing it, and evaluating it so that you use it correctly and effectively. This is an invaluable skill you will now need for your transition into being an employable individual, where you will use these skills and information to enable you to fit into the employment sector.

Follow this library guide to help you learn about deciding on the career you want and how to achieve it!
